Of course, I was surprised at the news, but was also very excited.
I quite automatically assumed it was going to be a shinai (bamboo sword), but when my friend brought the sword today, it turned out to be a bokutou (wooden sword).
-not that I'm complaining or anything. It's absolutely lovely, and the feeling of it in my hands is just superb.
As for kendo and my parents.. I still haven't received the "OK". But that's my fault, since I'm supposed to look into the mokuso and find articles on kendo for my mom. I should really get around to doing that.
BTW- I like this part of the bokutou best ^^;
