(King of Nabari)
Rokujou Miharu, also known as the "King of Apathy", has been living a normal life in the "Front World", without knowing about Nabari, the world of the shinobi, or the hijutsu which resides in him. One day, his friend, Aizawa Kouichi approaches the King of Apathy, and asks him to join his "Special training club". Miharu refuses, but agrees to think about it.
Later, after Thobari-sensei warns him about the danger he is in, Miharu chances upon a member of the Kairoushuu- a group that is hunting for the hijutsu. He is saved by Miharu, but very quickly finds himself under attack by more Kairoushuu. Miharu then taps upon the power of the hijutsu and manages to defeat the Kairoushuu- but he had been severely injured, and so he collapses.
When Miharu wakes up, he learns more about the hijutsu - Shinrabanshou -, its danger, and the people who are after it.
Will Miharu lose the hijutsu to those who desire its power? Or will he surpass them and become the King of Nabari?

Kouichi approaches the King of Apathy
..but the King has already run away.
As Kouichi continues to talk to Miharu,
Thobari-sensei trips and falls down the stairs
But manages to make a flashy recovery!
The King of Apathy, however, is not at all impressed.
Thobari-sensei, being the advisor of Kouichi's club, tries to get Miharu to join
But Miharu has disappeared again
Kouichi continues persuit, and when he finally tells Miharu it's a Ninjutsu club, he gives a funny face
Thobari-sensei visits Miharu, but is welcomed by two spatulas(?) narrowly missing his head
Apparently, they slipped out of Miharu's hands
Thobari-sensei talks about Nabari, and Miharu is sarcastically amazed.
Thobari feels rejected
Miharu has to go buy some katsuo-bushi, and gives Thobari-sensei that blushing face to escape
Kairoushuu alert!
The hijutsu protects Miharu from the shuriken
Miharu hears a voice in his head
The tentacles vines make another appearance.
The hijutsu - a scroll that has fused with Miharu's body
To stop it from activating, Kouichi stabs Miharu
then tries to cast a seal
Miharu sees the owner of the voice in his head
Moar tentacles vines
He wakes up later and sees Kouichi
But is obviously not happy to see him
Thobari-sensei explains about Nabari and the hijutsu
But they're already under attack again
*FACEPALM*
*FACEPALM!!* 2 COMBO
Thobari-sensei writes a word on Miharu's forhead
Asks Miharu to be the King of Nabari, and pledges his life and honor
Then Miharu remembers he needs to go buy some katsuo-bushi
The next day, Thobari-sensei becomes the teacher of Miharu's class
He tries to get him into the club again..
But he's already gone.
