A Beginner's Guide to Reading Manga



Manga is the Japanese word for comics and cartoons in the press. (The film, on the other hand, an animated film for television or film). Although it is essentially a manga comic book, manga has more seats in the Japanese culture than comics do in American society. Manga and is regarded as an art as a form of popular literature. In fact, many adults in Japan read manga and several major manga magazines in Japan to sell several million copies each week.

There are hundreds of stories to choose from in the manga books and there is something that caters for all tastes. Furthermore, many manga titles combine artful paintings and frames with nuanced story of a very entertaining and addictive reading.

1 Walk to the store. Most major bookstores have a section dedicated to manga, but really a series of titles, try to strip the shop. Either way, the manga books are usually covered in color, and perhaps the first few pages as well, but the rest of the story is usually in black and white.

2 Look through the books, read them a little. Stop when you find something you like and to take home.

3 If you are satisfied with the Internet surfing, reading manga online in the first place. Do not look for one of the many directories online manga sites and scan the room for titles that are interesting. Many sites will actually show the manga books for drawing and text from their website.

Look for the English publisher sites in the anterior part of the book, then check the site - likely to include descriptions of all his books, and maybe even a few samples online
