She's a seiyuu (Voice Actor, or VA) and J-pop singer. Some notable roles she's played as a seiyuu are the ever popular Suzumiya Haruhi, Izumi Konata, and Amane Misa.
As with most of the seiyuus of the "The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi" series, her fame got a great boost when she voice acted as Suzumiya Haruhi.
