Don't want to write a long review of this, so am just going to comment briefly.
It's a good example of bittersweet- The people designs are good (though the abundance of watermelon boobs annoyed me), but not all of the dragon designs were good. I found many characters
The transition of Kazuki from the good side to the dark side was good.
But ironically, the transition from dark side to the good side was bad (too sudden).
Development- was rather slow at the start, but started picking up towards the second half. Despite being sci-fi, there isn't much logic involved in the show (control gear suddenly popping out of nowhere, characters changing outfits in the blink of an eye), but it's good because you can watch it without having to think much. But the ending makes you wonder what happened to Gio.
The opening and the second ending songs are good. Didn't really have a feel for the first ending theme.
Other plus points would be that the animation is good, and one of my favorite seiyuus, Chihara Minori, plays the part of Toa. Hirano Aya also gets cast as Garnet MacLaine.
Overall, I'd say, "Keep this series as a later resort- it's not bad, but it's not good either."
